From Garage Beginnings to Global Manufacturing

Jerry came to Florida from Hammond Indiana as a kid with nothing but the work ethic his family taught him. He started making thresholds in his garage at 15.  He went on to work for Scotty’s Lumber for several years before he started his own company, Worldwide Hardware, headquartered in Tampa FL.  In 1983, Jerry launched Worldwide Door Components with a simple philosophy: when someone has a problem, you find a way to solve it.

Building Something That Lasts

While other companies chased quick profits or sold out to corporate buyers, Jerry kept building. Through the recession of the early 90s, the housing crash of 2008, supply chain chaos during COVID, we kept our doors open and our customers supplied. In 2004, when the industry said American manufacturers couldn’t compete globally, Jerry proved them wrong – building and opening our first facility in China, not to chase cheap labor, but to combine American quality standards with global efficiency. In 2023, we expanded to Indonesia to diversify our supply chain and reduce risk.

Still Family, Still Personal

Today, Jerry and Beth still make the decisions, answer the tough questions, and stand behind every component that leaves our facility.

As Executive Vice President, Beth oversees operations and ensures that the values this company was built on – integrity, reliability, and problem-solving – guide every decision we make.
The next generation is learning the business from the ground up, the same way Jerry did.
